Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: Air is leaking - how do I make it stop?

Since this tool is designed for use with air compressors which can produce high air pressure output, it is normal to experience air leaks every now and then. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to both prevent and fix this problem.

First, it is important that you listen for air leaks after you set-up your FlowPro™ to your compressor so you can determine what component the air is escaping from.

Here are the most likely components where you may experience this issue, and how to correct it:

From the brass screw on back of the handle

From the air chuck even when the trigger is not being held to inflate

From the base of the unit where the quick-connect plug screws in.

From another connection point such as the air compressor hose to a quick-connect coupler.

From the thumb trigger used for inflation and deflation.

Q: I changed the batteries and the gauge no longer works. Why!?

There is a known issue with Duracell brand batteries which have problems working with digital pressure gauges. Please try a different brand of batteries if you have this issue.

Q: What are the numbers that flash on the digital readout during inflation when working with an air compressor?

While holding down the thumb trigger to inflate air into your tires, the dial will display the pressure inside the tank of your air compressor. For example, if your compressor has 80 PSI of air pressure inside the tank, that is what will be displayed on the dial scale during inflation. This is useful to know so you can determine how full your compressor is.

When you release the thumb trigger, the reading will show the air pressure inside the tire.

Q: What kind of air tools can I use with this inflator?

You can use any air tool with 1/4" NPT threading, which is the gold standard for pneumatic air tools in the USA.

Q: What other air chucks do you offer?

You can check out our full line of exclusive 1/4" NPT air chucks here.

Q: What is the accuracy of the digital gauge?

This gauge is calibrated and certified highly accurate to 1% full scale range, or ±2 PSI.

Q: Besides everything that comes in the set, what else do I need to get this thing working with an air compressor?

This inflator comes fully equipped with everything to get you started working with an air compressor. All you need is a nice quality air compressor. You have many options on how to connect the FlowPro™ to your compressor.

Option #1 - Connect directly to the air compressor hose

If your air hose from the compressor has male 1/4" NPT threading, you can connect the hose directly to the female threading on the bottom of the FlowPro™ handle without needing any other accessories. Please make sure to use a proper amount of thread seal tape, and tighten the connection with a wrench so it is secure to avoid leaks.

Option #2 - Connect using quick-connect accessories

Many of our customers use a quick-connect setup. For your conveience, we have included a quick-connect steel plug (fitting) with your purchase. All you need is a compatible 1/4" NPT quick-connect coupler. Please make sure to use a proper amount of thread seal tape, and tighten the connection with a wrench so it is secure to avoid leaks.

Also note - this inflator is not designed to work with 12V portable tire inflators. This is a shop-quality tool engineered for use with heavy duty equipment.
